We are entering my favorite part of the year.

Chamber Music Week: March 5-10, 2012
Only Chamber music lessons this week, no regular lessons will be taught. There will be a sign up sheet for lessons. Please plan on at least 2 lessons during Chamber Music week. You may have as many lessons as can be arranged. Lessons will be at my home studio.

I suggest setting up all rehearsals for the chamber music season in September. Everyone needs to be as flexible as possible in regards to rehearsals. Remember, everyone else has a busy schedule too.

MSMTA Strings Plus Chamber Music Festival
The Festival is March 11, 2012 at the Lutheran Church of St. Andrew, 15300 New Hampshire Ave. Silver Spring, MD 20905. It will be held in the afternoon.

Rehearsals: I will expect your group to arrange its own independent rehearsals. I will need to see the schedule. I will assign one parent the job of setting the schedule – feel free to volunteer. Please be as flexible as possible and remember that everyone is busy. You should rehearse on the weeks you don't have a chamber music lesson. You could rehearse every week.

Preparation: It is vital your individual part is prepared as if it is a solo recital piece and that you have used your metronome before the first lesson or rehearsal. Be sure you practice counting the rests. The better prepared you are, the more fun you will have with the music! Advanced groups should have rehearsed before your first lesson and be able to get through the piece. Having considered dynamics, used metronome etc. would be even better! Be sure you have listened to the piece (if a recording is available)
