We will have a listening project every week.

In order to be a good classical violinist, you need to understand the classical music language. The only way to do that is to listen to classical violin music.

This assignment does not replace daily listening to the recording of your Suzuki book or your current piece.

It is in addition to it.

1. Choose a Classical violin piece – Concerto, sonata, solo, or chamber music work such as string quartet, and listen to it at least 3 times in a week. Please don't ask me if pop music or fiddle music etc. counts on this assignment. It doesn't! You can listen to, and enjoy other kinds of music (I hope you will!) but they don't count for this assignment.

2. On your practice sheet, list the title of the work; the composer, and the artist (include accompanist or orchestra).

3. I will have listening recommendation reviews for you on the bulletin board so you can share your favorite pieces with the rest of the studio.

4. Enjoy!
